Journal study: Quality initiative reduces unnecessary IV antihypertensive use for patients with severely elevated blood pressure
A new study in the June/July 2023 issue of The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety details a quality initiative launched at New York City Health + Hospitals, the largest safety net hospital system in the United States, to reduce unnecessary intravenous (IV) antihypertensive use to treat severely elevated blood pressure (e.g., asymptomatic severe hypertension, also known as hypertensive urgency).
