The Joint Commission finalized the 2024 ORYX performance measure reporting requirements, effective Jan. 1, 2024, for critical access hospitals and hospitals. New Quick Safety focuses on early identification, evaluation of severe pressure injuries
Pressure injuries can be deceptive, and many harbor a much deeper pressure injury than is apparent to the naked eye. When evaluating a pressure injury, bedside nurses and clinicians need to look for certain warning signs and symptoms that should trigger a surgical consultation and evaluation for the need for debridement.
